ShowIP is a freeware application which simply does what it’s name says, it shows you your IP-address. Useful for those who need a quick way to check or share their IP to their friends. Both the local IP and the WAN IP is available. ShowIP works very well even with firewalls/routers installed. ShowIP notifies you when your IP has changed. And much more…

Having installed the utility and running it the following screens and menus are provided:

System Tray icon
When ShowIP is running it displays a system tray icon with a tooltip showing the LAN and WAN IP addresses when the mouse hovers over it.
Double clicking on the system tray icon will display the main window:
There are tooltips for the menu items as can be seen above.
The first (top) text box displays the computer name.
The second text box shows the LAN IP address
The third text box shows the Internet/WAN IP address
The fourth (bottom) text box provides information which changes depending on the function selected and what ShowIP is doing.

This can be displayed by clicking on Menu in the center of the main screen or by right clicking on the System Tray icon:

Sounds alright, you could always just go to a whats my ip site. This toll could be really useful (like you said) for setting up multi-player on game consoles over the net.

I required to know my ip when i was using my previous ISP and i had a dynamic IP but i have a ststic IP now with my current ISP

A lot of bloggers are not very happy with this new iPad.There was too much hoopla about it and lots of people got disapointed.Thing is, I actually see lots of the cool potential of the gizmo. Third-party apps for playing tunes, games, papers and magazine and FFS books, tons of good stuff, but IMHO they just didn’t really sell it right (aside from the books). It smells sort of not finished
