More About What it Does in Detail:
The Revenger.com website gives the following information on CMenuExtender:
CMenuExtender is a shell extension that lets the user add items to the Explorer context menu. Using any registry-editor or the supplied GUI, the user can add submenus and items such as shortcuts to programs, documents, folders, webpages and scripts. CMenuExtender also has some predefined commands for copying, moving and retrieving information on files and directories.

has some useful information although I think they may be a bit harsh with some of their comments.
Having installed CMenuExtender the following screens and menus are provided:
This review will follow the usual format of presenting the majority of information as screenshots backed up by further information where necessary.
(click on any picture to enlarge where necessary)
Main Window
From here you can either create a new item to go in the main context menu or a “New Menu” item which will present a submenu heading in the main context menu.
Clicking on the New Item button reveals a dropdown which is shown in the following screenshots:
As you can see these include:
- Several predefined items
- Separators
- Custom Commands
Submenu
This allows you to create a submenu heading below which you can add your commands:
Here is an example of a submenu I called ProReviewer with 3 commands underneath:
and this is how it looks when right clicking an item in Windows Explorer:
- The first command is the “Properties Info” which is an active command that changes depending on the item on which you “right click”
This screenshot is for a file the first was for a directory - The second opens a Dos “Box” in the current directory
- The third is a command to start ProReviewer in the default web browser
(You could create a command to open in any web browser if you wanted)
This is just a simple example of the sort of menu you can create.
You can also create a submenu of a submenu as in this example:
In the above screenshot the path information below the ProReviewer submenu is also an item created in CMenuExtender
To edit individual command items use the Change button or double click the item in the GUI:
Help
The Help is web based and quite detailed for the basic functionality. The above screenshot shows the main headings on the webpage. There are few details on the more advanced ways to set up commands so you may need to use trial and error, which is fine for experienced users but more information in the help would be very useful and save time experimenting even for those with greater knowledge
