More About What it Does in Detail:

Long Description

Clicking the "Find in Tabs" button on the find bar will search for text in all open tabs, and show a list of search results.
Clicking any of the results will jump to the tab on which it was found, and scroll directly to the highlighted text.

Works with:
  • Firefox: 3.0 – 3.1a2

General Use of Autocopy

This review will follow the usual format of presenting the majority of information as screenshots backed up by further information where necessary.

Once installed Autocopy displays an extra button in the Firefox Find bar:

Find_In_Tabs_Find_Bar

Clicking on the Find in Tabs button opens a search pane at the bottom of the browser window:

Find_In_Tabs_Screen

This pane shows the results highlighted in a yellow baloon with a red border which is very distinctive.

At the same time a similar highlight is shown within the selected page. The selection of the page/tab is automatic when clicking on a search result line in the results pane:

Find_In_Tabs_In_Page_Highlight

Options

Find_In_Tabs_Addons_Manager

These are accessed from the Add-ons manager available through the Tools menu:

Find_In_Tabs_Options

These are limited to:

  1. The number of results displayed
  2. The delay between searches
  3. Checking for compatibility with other add-ons
  4. Showing Favicons
