The ClipGuru website gives the following details:
ClipGuru™ is for the Windows user who prefers clipboard storage features unavailable in the standard Windows clipboard. ClipGuru™ gives users the ability to recall and reuse current and past clipboard contents, and to optionally save those clips into your own clip Sets for future use.
ClipGuru™ Runs in the background and does not affect the normal use of the Windows clipboard. It simply grabs a copy of everything copied to the clipboard and saves it for you. Clipboard items are saved, based on user preference, and kept available for recall at any time.
Having “installed” ClipGuru and running it the following screens and menus are provided:
This review will follow the usual format of presenting the majority of information as screenshots backed up by further information where necessary.
(click on any picture to enlarge where necessary)
System Tray icon
When running the following systray icon is presented along with a Tooltip showing the settings:
When a clip has been “found” on the clipboard the system tray icon changes as so:
Main Window
The main window shows Navigation and Options on the left, the list of clips to the top right and the Details of the clips plus Help and Sets management at the bottom under 4 separate tabs.
ClipGuru makes good use of Tooltips to provide information:
Here is the tooltip shown when hovering the mouse cursor over an item in the Clip history list.
Options
The Options window provides access to some well thought out options.
Here are some examples of the tooltips associated with the navigation/options/functions area:
Sets
New sets can be created and managed under the Clip Sets tab.
Additional Info
The additional Info function provides details of when and where the clip was captured.

Clipboard texts are nice, but I only need them for Outlook, which is why I discovered a great shareware program with the strange name “ReplyButler” for me. It’s basically boilerplate textmodules on steroids. Multilingual, icons, auto-search, treeview and other stuff. However, it’s not freeware like ClipGuru. :’(

Thanks for the nice review! While blogging I make a large (really large!) use of the clipboard and sometimes when I mess things up I always use it to see what picture i used last. Having something more professional like ClipGuru can be really something useful! Thanks again!

Clippy is an extremely handy tool to convert text from the clipboard, based on user defined criteria. Common uses include cleaning up email forwards by getting rid of the > symbols. However, there are many other options and uses that allow you to trim white space, remove duplicate lines, strip HTML and much more from your clipboard text input.

I’m somewhat tempted to download this, however, I think my regular clipboard will suffice for the moment.

“ClipGuru is a semi Portable Application which monitors the clipboard and stores the information it finds there as text or images.”
I think this is a useful tool that’ll make things easier, especially if you have to deal with lots of images when doing your documents and stuff.
“ClipGuru is a small, portable and light on resources. It allows you to store text clips or images (copied on there own without any text). So if you need to store text on it’s own, or images on their own, with the option to save different sets and paste multiple selections this could be very useful.”
I think I’m gonna try this product out. Hope it really helps me with my documents since I deal with plenty of images and texts when preparing my office files.
