DonationCoder Freeware Utilities
Posted by: Barry Cleave in Freeware, tags: autohotkey, Donationcoder, Freeware, Portable Freeware, Programs, Reviews, Utilities, WindowsThe Donation Coder web site offers a selection of freeware programs and portable freeware utilities some of which are written in the autohotkey scripting language. There is a wide range of programs from small utilities to carry out a relatively simple task to far more complex programs such as Find & Run Robot or Process Tamer. Many of the utilities are available both as a source code (*.ahk) and executable programs (*.exe). This means that you can easily use the utilities straight away or you can modify them for yourself using autohotkey which can be relatively easily learned at a basic level. The icing on the cake is that custom made utilities can be requested.
Quoting from their homepage:

My Free Review Summary:
I use many of the programs and utilities on my computers and will be reviewing several of them in the coming weeks.
The DonationCoder web site also offers far more than just the programs. It has a “Reviews and Features” section, a “Blog” section, a “Newsletter” and a very active Forum. You can also pick up a selection of RSS feeds. It’s well worth a visit but make sure you have some spare time to spend as there is plenty to see!
They rely on donations for funding and are currently offering lifetime membership which gives a non-expiring key for all programs. Although the programs are freeware the benefits of membership in terms of such things as early access to new utilities and discounts on reviewed software are explained here. You can find out more information on their “About page:
ABOUT US
DonationCoder.com is a site for people who love computer software, and like the idea of supporting each other’s work through donations - it’s funded entirely by individuals who join the site.
Some of our members are professional programmers, but most don’t care about programming and just like to debate about which programs are the best for any given task. Most of our software discussions focus on Microsoft Windows software, but hey if you want to come talk about your favorite commodore 64 software feel free, we love to reminisce and talk about our shared hatred of everything Apple. Ha ha ha just kidding, we’ve got some mac lovers on our site too

Oh, and that little bird creature? His name is Cody. He’s our mascot. Like most things on our site he was designed by one of our members based on a discussion on our forum. You’ll run into him from time to time on DonationCoder.com, causing all sorts of mischief.

Mouser over at DonationCoder left the following comment in a post on the DonationCoder Forum so I have added it in here
“Looks like a nice new blog
I don’t say that because you mention DonationCoder — any site doing honest software reviews is a good thing in my opinion.
I’m going to bookmark it and put it on my regularly visited list.”
